A tribute to the past, present, and future of American ice skating will bring champions Peggy Fleming, Nancy Kerrigan, Debi Thomas, Sasha Cohen, Evan Lysacek, and other figure-skating icons to Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall on Saturday.

The Caesars Tribute Presented by Colgate Total: A Salute to the Golden Age of American Skating will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised nationally on NBC at 4 p.m. Christmas Day.

"The greatest figure-skating champions of all time have skated on the Boardwalk Hall ice at one time or another," says Joe Domenico, senior vice president and general manager of Caesars and Bally's Atlantic City. "It is so important to keep that rich history alive."

Peggy Fleming, 1968 Olympic gold medal winner, has a history of performing at Boardwalk Hall. "I was a judge for the Miss USA Pageant many years ago and have done some commentating for an ABC skating show there as well," says the retired figure skater, who will cohost the tribute with sportscaster Mary Carillo.

Scott Hamilton will participate by presenting 1948 and 1952 Olympic gold medal winner Dick Button with an award to honor his career. Kristi Yamaguchi, although not scheduled to perform, will be interviewed during the show.

Two-time Olympic medal-winner Nancy Kerrigan is looking forward to returning to Atlantic City, as well as to performing. "It's a really easy place for us to get to from Boston, so it makes for a nice getaway," says Kerrigan, the figure-skating veteran whose performance will be her first in Boardwalk Hall.

The tribute is also presented by Harrah's Entertainment, Caesars Atlantic City, and StarGames. Skaters scheduled to perform are Kimmie Meissner, Sarah Hughes, Caryn Kadavy, Rudy Galindo, Michael Weiss, Todd Eldredge, Kerrigan with Paul Wylie, and couples skaters Calla Urbanski and Rocky Marval, Jenni Meno and Todd Sand, and Naomi Lang and Peter Tchernyshev.
