The rink may be cold but things will soon be heating up at the Roosevelt Ice Arena.

From arabesques to double axles, more than 50 skaters ages 5-18 will take to the ice Saturday and Sunday for the Black Hills Figure Skating Winter Showcase.

The kids have been sharpening their skates and their skills

In preparation for the event which kicks off the clubs competition season.

Black Hills Figure Skating Club Chris Rogers says, "This year we are featuring exhibition performances from skaters, a few numbers from our ice theater groups, learn to skate group, and also Jr. club and Sr. club group members but mostly it's an exhibition of solo skaters."

The showcase will be Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. both are at the Roosevelt Ice Arena.
