Greensboro, NC -- Everyone who watches the U.S. Figure Skating Championships will get a chance to experience a part of Greensboro and competitors will get a unique feel for the Triad.

Local businesses are putting a personal touch on the championships in their own ways.

Cindy Tole and her staff at Botanica Flowers and Gifts were asked to make the bouquets that will be given to the skaters.

"I really didn't expect to get the phone call. It just came one day and I was just thrilled we heard from them," she said.

Tole said she is planning to use about 1,200 flowers to make 74 bouquets and about 35 center pieces for dinner events.

"Gives me goose bumps to think about it. It's very exciting. My whole staff is thrilled. As soon as I told them about it I got screeches and squeals and jumping up and down," she said.

"It's just nice to say we took part in it and did our part for it," said Tole.

Tole's isn't the only work that will be on display at the event.

Graphic Visual Solutions has printed all of the signs, banners, posters, and programs.

"All the street pole banners, the signs you see in the stores, in the restaurants, the hotels and also the signs you're going to see at the actual venue at the Coliseum, said President and CEO Bryan Hall.

"We've actually be printing the entire year and a half, promoting ticket sales, but certainly in the recent weeks we've been running around the clock," said Hall.

They printed banners Tuesday that will be hung at the Coliseum over the next few days.

"It's been a lot of fun because typically events like this would bring just ink on paper, but they're really wanting to roll out the red carpet for the skaters and the fans," said Hall.

He said they have printed more than 1,000 individual pieces such as signs, posters, and banners that would cover 10,000 square feet.

They have printed 6,000 programs and over the course of the past year, nearly half a million brochures and flyers.
